The Stonington Board of Selectmen held a special meeting on this date at 3:00 p.m. at the Stonington Town Hall. Present were First Selectman William S. Brown, Selectman Stephen E. Bessette and Selectman Peter L. Balestracci.
(1) Call to Order
Mr. Brown called the meeting to order at 3:01 p.m.
(2) Comments from the Public - None.
(3) Set the Call for Special Town Meeting to consider and act on a Resolution to Create a Permanent, Public Building and Infrastructure Committee
The Town Attorney has rendered his opinion regarding the petitions for special town meeting which were certified by the Town Clerk on March 1, 2006. He recommends the Board of Selectmen call a Special Town Meeting for the purpose of establishing a permanent, public building and infrastructure committee to advise the Board of Selectmen on issues concerning Town buildings and Town infrastructure. If approved by the electors, the Board of Selectmen shall determine the number of members, its duties and responsibilities.
A motion was made by Mr. Balestracci, seconded by Mr. Bessette and unanimously voted to adopt the following resolution:
“BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that pursuant to Section 3-4 of the Charter, the Board of Selectmen calls a Special Town Meeting for Thursday, March 30, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at the Mystic Middle School Cafeteria, 204 Mistuxet Avenue, Mystic, Connecticut, to consider and act upon a resolution to create a permanent, public building and infrastructure committee as outlined in the Notice of Special Town Meeting, which will be attached to the Minutes of this meeting as Appendix A, which notice is hereby approved.”
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 3:03 p.m.

FIRST: To consider and vote upon a Resolution to Create a Permanent, Public Building and Infrastructure Committee of the Town of Stonington, Connecticut. A copy of the complete text of the Resolution is on file in the Town Clerk’s office during normal business hours.
