The Board of Finance held a special meeting on this date at the Police Department meeting room. Members present were Glenn Frishman, Chairman; Andrew Rines, Secretary; Dudley Wheeler and Kevin Burns. John O’Brien and Bryan Bentz were absent. Also present Maryanna Stevens, Director of Finance, Superintendent of Schools Michael McKee, Finance Manager Judy Samokar, Police Chief Darren Stewart and Captain Jerry Desmond.
Mr. Frishman called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.
Approval of Expenditures
Mrs. Stevens covered in detail all the necessary expenditures, i.e. Salaries & allowances, leases, license fees, Police overtime. These covered both Town and BOE.
Mrs. Stevens mentioned receipt of a request from the Borough of Stonington for disbursement of funds for FY 2008-2009. Members agreed that this was not possible given the budget has not passed. Mrs. Stevens also mentioned the need for upcoming Highway overtime to clean at the picnic area. Members agreed that this was allowable as it was a health issue.
Mr. Burns made a motion to approve the expenditures brought before them, Mr. Wheeler seconded the motion and voting was unanimous.
There being no further business to come before the Board, Mr. Wheeler made a motion to adjourn. Mr. Rines seconded the motion and the meeting was unanimously adjourned at 8:45 a.m.
